Newsletter #33: October 2024
Dear Readers,
With our local Fête des Vendanges (grape harvest festival) already over, the autumn season has fully arrived to my corner of Switzerland.
That means I'm ready to start cooking and baking again with my favorite autumn ingredients. Chestnuts, squash, apples, pears, Brussels sprouts, Swiss chard and more!
Here are some recipes to get you started:

Swiss Suppers
You'll also find a number of fall-inspired recipes in Swiss Suppers, my new cookbook. For example, Steak Vigneron (Neuchâtel), a winegrowers' hamburger steak sandwich popular at the Fête des Vendanges. Or, you might like my recipes for Capuns (Graubünden) with sun-dried tomatoes or Guyenëfles (Valais), little sweet potato dumplings.
How to order my new cookbook, Swiss Suppers:
In the US: Available now via Bergli Books. Free shipping to the US for orders over $30!
In Switzerland: Directly from my publisher, Helvetiq (versions in English, French or German), or at Swiss bookstores, such as Payot and Orell Füssli.
Other international orders: Amazon.com.
I'm off to the Swiss canton of Thurgau next week for some culinary exploring. If you have any recommendations for this region of Switzerland, please let me know!
Many thanks, and best wishes,
Heddi
