How did an American start writing about Swiss food?
Three years after arriving in the Swiss canton of Neuchâtel, I started my blog about Swiss food, drink and culinary travel, titled Cuisine Helvetica.
Cuisine: In English, “a style of cooking” (Merriam-Webster). In French, “cooking” or “kitchen” (Larousse).
Helvetica: The Latin name for Switzerland. The nation’s official moniker is Confoederatio Helvetica.
In 2018, Cuisine Helvetica was nominated as a finalist for the Saveur Blog Awards under the category of Best Special Interest Food Blog.
Little by little, I developed my knowledge and experience with Swiss food and found a community of people who are also passionate about this subject. I share my passion for Swiss cuisine in my three cookbooks, published by Helvetiq in English, French and German.

These newsletters can also include Swiss travel recommendations, culinary news from Switzerland and links to seasonal recipes.
